Title: Collaboration at Scale

Speaker: Christopher Dwan, Broad Institute, MIT

Abstract: The Broad Institute is host to more than 700 researchers, working to advance the understanding and cure of disease.  As part of this, we have generated petabytes of data and employ thousands of cores of Linux servers in a high performance computing environment.  Increasingly, the gating factor in cutting-edge research will be the ability of these researchers to seamlessly collaborate and appropriate share data across project, institutional, and even national boundaries.  This talk will explore some of the fundamental changes that will be required to remain relevant in this changing environment.

Speaker Bio: Chris Dwan directs Research Computing at the Broad Institute (MIT) and is Acting Director for Information Technology.
