Subject: [CCB_Faculty_Staff] Important Notice Regarding Electrical Shutdown in Converse 8/2

Dear CCB Colleagues,

We write to inform you of a planned electrical shutdown in Converse Lab is scheduled from 4:00am to 2:30pm on Wednesday, August 2nd.  The shutdown is required for service work on the building transformers (13,800 volts) and electrical switchgear.  Without this service work, we would face the prospect of an unplanned emergency outage in the future.

·        There will be no lighting, room ventilation, cooling, fume hood exhaust, or electricity available from wall outlets during the shutdown

·        No one will be allowed to enter the Converse Lab throughout the shutdown for life safety reasons

·        All experiments should be shut down and made safe

·        House nitrogen and house vac will remain fully functional during this shutdown

·        Keep doors closed between Converse and Conant as well as Converse to Naito

·        No mailroom or deliveries to Converse building

Please contact the Facilities Department at (617) 495-3076 with questions or concerns.

With Kind Regards,

The Facilities Team
