Dear CoHSL members:
We are in the final stages of organizing the Athens meeting! If you
haven't already done so, please confirm with me directly if you plan to
attend. Maria Georgopoulou and her colleagues at the Gennadius are
working hard on local arrangements and we are together planning the
meeting schedule which will bring us all together for the first
time on Greek soil. Our colleague Harry Leich, from the Library of
Congress, is currently in Athens on an acquisitions trip and I just have
received word that he made an excellent presentation at the
Ethniki Vivliotheke (National Library of
Greece) and pitched our project and meeting to the audience which
consisted of several important players. (I am sure that Harry will give
us the full report upon his return.) Harry actually participated in the
first attempt at collaboration at the 1999 conference at LC, and has been
a great help to us in organizing this meeting.
Re: Hotel accommodations, we have received a special rate from the
Herodion Hotel, 4 Rovertou Galli str., Athens, which is located
close to the metro station ACROPOLIS, literally next to the new Acropolis
Museum, and minutes away from the site. You can check it out at:
