Dear Colleagues,

As a member of ALA's Joseph W. Lippincott Award Jury, I am writing to encourage nominations/applications for the 2008 award. Founded by the late Joseph W. Lippincott and now donated by his grandson, Joseph W. Lippincott, III, the award "consist[s] of $1,000 and a 24k gold-framed citation presented annually to a librarian for distinguished service to the profession of librarianship, such service to include outstanding participation in the activities of the professional library association, notable published professional writing, or other significant activity on behalf of the profession and its aims."

Nominations/applications must be postmarked by December 1, 2007 for consideration. For more information, including application form and list of previous winners, visit:

http://www.ala.org/Template.cfm?Section=awards&template=/ContentManagement/ContentDisplay.cfm&ContentID=161877.

Feel free to get in touch with any questions.

Best,
George I. Paganelis
