The speakers will briefly introduce their views on the role of religion
in the current elections. We will then have extensive time for
questions and discussion.

Jim Wallis is a speaker, author, activist, and international
commentator on ethics and public life. He was a founder of Sojourners -
Christians for justice and peace - and continues to serve as the editor
of Sojourners magazine. He also co-founded Call to Renewal, a
national federation of churches, denominations, and faith-based
organizations from across the theological and political spectrum working
to overcome poverty. He offers regular commentary and analysis for radio
and television and teaches a course at Harvard University on “Faith,
Politics, and Society.”
Ronald Thiemann is a professor of religion and society at Harvard
Divinity School. He is a Faculty Fellow at the John F. Kennedy
School’s Hauser Center for Nonprofit Organizations and serves on the
steering committee of the center’s Joint Program in Religion and Public
Life. His books include Constructing a Public Theology: The Church in
a Pluralistic Culture and Religion in Public Life: A Dilemma for
Democracy; he is also an editor of Who Will Provide: The Changing
Role of Religion in American Social Welfare.
