I write to inform you that our colleague Marshall Goldman will be
stepping down from his duties as Associate Director of the Davis Center
this coming summer. I am deeply grateful to him for the qualities of
mind, loyalty, indefatigability, and positive thinking that he has
brought to the job on my watch. I know everyone who has seen him in
action will share the sentiment. He has done this work without
interruption for more than thirty years, so the debt owed to him is
surely multigenerational.
With the approval of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Marshall will
become our “Senior Scholar,” effective July 1. He has been a huge
presence at the Russian Research Center/Davis Center since the first
decade of its existence. We all hope and trust he will continue to be
for
many years to come.
We will be in touch later about an event to mark the occasion.
