CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- After finishing the regular season with an 8-1 record, the Harvard men's swimming and diving team has moved up to No. 22 in the latest College Swim Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) national poll.  The Crimson was previously ranked 25th in the country.

Harvard opened the year with seven straight victories against Dartmouth,Cornell, Columbia, Arizona State, Navy, Penn and Brown.  The Crimson also placed second at the prestigious Georgia Invitational in December.  The team then hosted the annual HYP meet at Blodgett Pool Jan. 31-Feb. 1.  Harvard topped Yale, 251-102, but lost to Princeton by a score of 193-160, preventing the Crimson from its second consecutive undefeated regular season.

Harvard finished the Ivy League portion of its schedule 6-1, good for second in the conference.  Up next, the Crimson will look to capture its third straight ECAC Championship, which the team will host at the friendly confines of Blodgett Feb. 27-March 1. Since the 2003-04 season, Harvard owns a 20-1 record at home.

The team will then travel to Princeton for the Ivy League Championship (formerly EISL Championship), scheduled for March 5-7.  Harvard won last year's EISL title at Blodgett and has claimed 20 conference crowns in program history.
