Dear All,
This message is from Asaf Bachrach of MIT, who is organizing a Number
Reading Group,
which will include occasional participation by (among others) Susan
Carey, Gennaro Chierchia,
and Danny Fox, and a number of graduate students working on the
representation of numerical
knowledge. It looks fun! Let me know if you have any questions.

Dear all,
You are all invited to the first meeting this fall of a new
interdisciplinary
reading group on the topic of number. We intend to discuss ongoing
research and
recent papers in neurocognitive psychology, cognitive development,
semantics/pragmatics, morphology, syntax and psycholinguistics. The
group will
be meeting bi-weekly with the location alternating between Harvard and
MIT. Our
first meeting will take place on Thursday the 29th of september (5:30
PM). The
exact location TBA. If you are interested to participate but cannot
make it on
that date please let me know as we will take some time on the first
meeting to
determine the best meeting time for future reading group meetings.
Mathieu Le Corre from Harvard psychology will be our first speaker. He
will
discuss his recent research investigating the development of the
mapping
between numerals and analog magnitudes. In short, "acquisition of the
semantics
of number". A draft of his paper will be made available shortly.
