The Addiction & Decision Neuroscience Lab (www.konovalab.com) at Rutgers University—New Brunswick invites applicants for a postdoc position to begin in Summer/Fall 2019 (flexible).

 

Description: The ADN Lab conducts decision neuroscience work in health and drug addiction that borrows heavily on methods from psychology, experimental economics, clinical neuroscience, and computational psychiatry. Projects span clinical studies of risk and resilience factors in addiction recovery to experimental studies of value construction, subjective states (craving, stress), and dietary choice in health, and use a variety of techniques including behavior, functional MRI, psychophysiology, and clinical assessment and phenotyping. The successful candidate will have an opportunity to develop their own research questions within the broader aims of the lab as well as contribute to ongoing projects and collaborations.

 

Rutgers University offers an ideal environment to conduct clinically-oriented computational and cognitive neuroscience research including access to the Rutgers-Princeton Center for Computational Cognitive Neuro-Psychiatry, the Rutgers Brain Imaging Center, the Brain Health Institute, and a large network of university-affiliated clinics and treatment centers. Added bonus: we are located an hour train ride from wonderful New York City.

 

Qualifications: PhD, MD or MD/PhD in psychology, cognitive neuroscience, or a related field is required. Previous experience working with functional neuroimaging, computational modeling, and/or patient populations is strongly desired but not required. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, curious, and will have excellent communication skills.
