Hi, When you load the sample into Raith chamber, holder usually doesn't
fall into the right place. Please move the sample few times ( 50 mm away ),
and see whether it always goes back the same position. If it can not move
back to the same position, please try unload-load. Right now it is the only
fix, and we will try to solve this asap. Thanks. Yuan
There seems to be some new failure mode discovered daily. Today, Sergio
has noted (and shown me) that the video card in the Raith control
computer is dead/nonfunctional. When one does a match writefield scan,
the image is blank (white), irrespective of settings in
contrast/brightness.
Just letting you all know.

Hi, Raith is up running. Please let me know if the stage is not working
properly. I need the Raith time from 9am- 8pm on Friday so Raith can check
the stage. Thanks. Yuan
Hi, Turbo pump has been replaced. Water chiller is not working properly,
it's been on and off since yesterday. We need one more day to fix the
water chiller. Sorry for the inconvenience, I will try to get it ready
tomorrow afternoon. Yuan
Hello,
I want to announce that there is a new online mechanism to
sign-up for time for the Raith system in the McKay Basement
Cleanroom. You can access the site at the URL:
http://cims-signup.harvard.edu
Please note that this replaces the paper based sign-up system.
All entries on paper has been put on the site. The site is now the
official method to allot your time. This site also contains
information as to the status of the Raith and some other equipment.
Any questions or comments you may have regarding this change in
policy may be forwarded to me, Jim Reynolds, Administrative Manager
of CIMS at reynolds(a)physics.harvard.edu
If you require the Raith Technician, Yuan Lu to be present for
technical reasons during your Raith session, you must send him an
email at ylu(a)fas.harvard.edu as there is no automatic notification
feature in the new site. Please give no less than 24 hour notice to
Yuan if you require him.
This is a temporary measure being done on a trial basis. A more
permanent solution will be rolled out sometime in the near future.
thanks,
Jim
