About Us
We strive to foster a community in which undergraduates interested in the
intersection between medicine and the humanities can collectively explore
their academic interests and passions.
We create opportunities for students to engage in critical discussion with
each other about medical humanities scholarship and also host events in
which students can learn from faculty members and healthcare practitioners.

FAQ:
Q: When does the HPT show go up? Can I audition if I am already doing a fall production?
A: YES! Our show goes up in the first half of the spring semester, so it does not conflict with fall theater.
Q: What even is a HPT?
A: HPT is an undergraduate theater organization (the oldest theater organization in the United States) that puts on a professional-level, student-written, comedic musical every spring. We have a 40 show run, including a show tour to New York and Bermuda, our show includes lots of puns, characters in drag, satire, and fun!
Q: How much experience do I need? Who can audition?
A: No experience needed! And ANYONE can audition, including all gender identities (the show is cast gender blind)!
Q: What should I bring to auditions?
A: A short cut of a musical theater song to sing, energy, and willingness to have fun!

ABOUT *FOOTLOOSE*
Adapted from the titular 1984 hit movie, Footloose follows Ren and his
mother’s move from the big city to the rural farmlands of Bomont. After
Ren—an avid dancer—discovers that dancing has been outlawed by Bomont’s
religious leader, he embarks on a journey to mobilize the town’s youth and
bring the town together. A collaboration between the Asian Student Arts
Project (ASAP) and ¡TEATRO!, this production centers pan-Asian and Latine
identities to uniquely investigate Ren’s diasporic journey and themes of
intergenerational trauma present in Bomont’s familial community.
