Invitation to "Life of Pi" Film Screening - Thursday, November 15th, 7pm
The Pluralism Project at Harvard University has been invited to screen the forthcoming film "Life of Pi<http://www.LifeofPimovie.com/>." We cordially invite you to join us for this screening on Thursday, November 15th at 7pm at the AMC Theater Boston Common 19 (175 Tremont Street, Boston, MA).

A confirmation e-mail will be sent to the address provided along with a ticket to be shown at the theater when you arrive on Thursday evening. HDS Fall Town Hall
Tuesday, November 13, 4:30-6pm, Braun Room
Please join us beforehand at 3:30 PM for a special Community Tea hosted by the Office of Development and External Relations in honor of National Philanthropy Day.
Town Hall is a chance for students, staff, and faculty to gather and talk about current topics within the HDS community. The topic of this semester's meeting will be "Does the Study of Religion Matter? Making Ministry and Scholarship Relevant."
Discussion will focus on how students' training prepares them for engagement with the wider world and how the HDS curriculum meets the diverse needs of the student body. A conversation will also be held on Dean Hempton's Convocation Address, "The Fog of Religious Conflict," and on the Report on the Study of Religion at Harvard.
There will be small group discussions focused on the following five topics:
*How do we make the classroom experience more relevant?
*How do we make the curriculum/course offerings/degrees more relevant?
*How do we make our practical training for ministry or academia more relevant?
*How do we make our engagement with the broader world more relevant?
*How do we make our HDS community activities and resources more relevant?

The Bon of Tibet

Please join us for the second event as part of CSWR Junior Fellow Konchok Tsering's series, Studying Religions in the Minority. In this lecture Samten G. Karmay, former President of the International Association for Tibetan Studies, will talk on the Bon religion of Tibet.

Practicing Divinity: Nabil Khan

Please join us for a presentation by Nabil Khan, "Healing: Spirituality and Medicine."
This presentation is part of a series co-sponsored by the Office of Religious and Spiritual Life and Life Together, "Practicing Divinity: HDS Students on Spiritual Practices," consisting of five, one-hour informal lunchtime presentations/workshops. The series will feature HDS students sharing some of their expertise, research, and wisdom about a particular spiritual practice with other students, faculty, and staff, and each presentation will briefly highlight a different spiritual practice. To ensure that this remains informal and as nourishing as possible, we will serve a simple lunch of soup and bread during each presentation.
