CONGRATULATIONS AND AN INVITATION TO HARVARD COLLEGE SENIOR THESIS WRITERS OF 2022!
You are warmly invited to share your research experiences with your underclass peers in a
new pilot program co-sponsored by the Office of Undergraduate Research and Fellowships
(URAF) and the Harvard College Undergraduate Council Executive Cabinet.
INTRODUCING Harvard College Research SnackChats
Here’s how Research SnackChats works: Sign up to spend an hour with one of your
first-year, sophomore, or junior peers to talk about your research, how it has aligned
with your academic interests, and how it evolved into a thesis. The intention of the
program is to support informal peer-to-peer conversations about how research augments and
enhances the undergraduate scholarly trajectory at Harvard for those students who have yet
to consider conducting an independent research project . As someone who recently has
submitted a senior thesis, the program also offers you the opportunity to engage in a
conversation about your experiences and provide some guidance to someone who may just be
thinking about research or starting out.
Research SnackChats will provide up to $25 in reimbursement from URAF for a trip to a
local eatery of your choice for your 1:1 conversation!
To sign up for Research SnackChats, please complete the information on this Qualtrics
form<https://harvard.az1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_8JnpuxDBIBustQW> by Wednesday,
March 23, 2022. Following receipt of your registration, we will promote all Research
SnackChats submissions with aspiring undergraduates considering research who sign up, with
the intent to make matches happen by Friday, April 1. Then, you will have until Monday,
April 25 to have your Research SnackChats conversation, after which you will be able to
submit your verified receipt for reimbursement. (Please note: Our preference is to make
matches with peers you do not already know. Since this is a two-way process, we cannot
guarantee a match will be made.)
On behalf of URAF and the UC Executive Cabinet, I hope you take advantage of this great
opportunity to share your expertise, and help a peer get started on their own research
journey!
If you have questions, please feel free to write to
undergradresearch@fas.harvard.edu<mailto:undergradresearch@fas.harvard.edu> . We
look forward to receiving your submission! All best wishes,
Yours truly—Greg Llacer.
