The Bioethics Society of the University of Pennsylvania is pleased to
announce the fourth issue of the PENN BIOETHICS JOURNAL. PBJ has
established itself as one of the preeminent undergraduate bioethics
journals in the nation. PBJ provides an academic forum for undergraduate
discussion of current, relevant issues in the field of bioethics. The
peer-reviewed journal is circulated both in print and online. Dr. Paul
Root Wolpe (Chief of Bioethics at NASA and President of American Society
of Bioethics and Humanities) and Dr. Connie Ulrich (Assistant Professor of
Nursing), both Senior Fellows at the Penn Center for Bioethics, serve as
its advisors.
The Outstanding Contribution to Undergraduate Bioethics award,
administered in conjunction with the Center for Undergraduate Research
(CURF) at Penn, has been established to recognize outstanding
undergraduate writing in bioethics. All undergraduates with articles
published in PBJ are considered equally for the prize. Two outstanding
articles in the journal will be recognized with a first place prize and a
second place prize. The recognitions will be awarded in conjunction with
the publication of each issue. Please see
