Host a young professional from Russia!
A young professional from Russia will be in Boston from mid-December
to mid-May, working in the state legislature as part of the
Legislative Education and Practice Program (LEAP). Now in it's third
year, this program is funded by the U.S. Department of State, ECA
Bureau. The fellow is in her mid-twenties, speaks excellent English,
is university-educated and possesses a keen desire to learn about the
American legislative system. In addition, she is an alumna of another
U.S. Government-sponsored program, the Future Leaders Exchange Program
(FLEX), through which she lived and studied in the U.S. for a year
during high school, learning about American democratic values and
ideals.
For the duration of the internship in the Massachusetts state
legislature, the fellow will stay with a host family in Boston. We
are currently looking for potential hosts in the area. Host families
must be able to provide room and board, as well as accessibility to
public transportation. They will be compensated with a small monthly
stipend.
This is a wonderful opportunity to engage with a future leader from
one of the most dynamic nations on Earth. And because she's already
familiar with the U.S. and an adult, it won't require the same type of
time and effort traditionally associated with "hosting."
