Hi All,
I emailed John about this last week, but I suspect he may be traveling
or otherwise preoccupied, so I thought I'd just send out a request to
the list at large:
We've organized a public lecture series at Cerro Coso Community College
here in Bishop for the past three years. We're doing it again this Fall,
and I'm wondering if anyone from the group would be interested in giving
a public talk about the BICEP2 results?
The date I have in mind is Oct 2 (a Thursday), and we can provide travel
reimbursement for speaker, and lodging at the observatory for up to 5
nights for speaker + any accompanying family. Early Oct is prime hiking
season in the Eastern Sierra, and the talks are well attended (100+) by
a diverse and appreciative audience.
I'm trying to finalize our schedule very soon, and I know our audience
would love to hear about the experiment & results, so let me know soon
if there are any takers -- it's a great opportunity for anyone
interested in communicating science to the public, and a chance to hone
your public speaking skills!
Cheers,
Erik
