Randol/all,
I expect return of the SPTR link will happen very soon. I have been
in touch with Steff, John Carlstrom, and Derek on this and Derek has
machined a replacement waveguide part. Last I heard (> 36h ago,
before I left China) a test of the system was imminent.
Steff: I suspect there may be a large enough data backlog that it
will take multiple passes to catch up. Probably best to start with
the most recent data, if possible.
Yes, that is the plan. I have been rotating
data in and out of the
SPTR server in anticipation of a fix. When I spoke to Jeremy the
other day, he indicated that today might be the day for a test at least.
Cheers,
Steffen
cheers,
John

Hi Steff,
If the return of the Ku band isn't imminent, as you said in an
earlier email, we should probably work on getting data quality checks
happening at pole. Let me know how you would like to proceed - I
don't think there is much harm in waiting a few more days to see if
the data transfer is restored. If it's going to be much more than
that, I can help you get the reduc plots working at pole.
Thanks much, Randol
