*The Pluralism Project at Harvard University* is seeking applications for
research internship positions for Summer 2014. Internship projects will
vary depending on the student's interests/experience but might include
conducting ethnographic research and field visits to study religious
diversity in a particular city of their choosing and/or working directly
Pluralism Project senior staff to enhance the Pluralism Project's web and
archival resources at our Cambridge, MA office.
All interns will be expected to participate in weekly intern cohort
meetings via Skype and will work closely with Pluralism Project senior
staff throughout the internship. Research results may be published as a
part ofOn Common Ground: World Religions in
America<http://www.pluralism.org/ocg> or
elsewhere on the Pluralism Project's
website,pluralism.org<http://www.pluralism.org/>.
Internships are unpaid, although we are happy to work with candidates to
secure academic credit or internship compensation through their home
institution.
*Qualifications:* Applications are sought from current undergraduate and
graduate students with excellent writing and oral communication skills. We
invite students from all majors to apply; Experience in conducting
ethnographic field research a plus but not required. Previous work with
databases and archival projects is also helpful for those who wish to
intern in our Cambridge, MA office.
*Interest in (and respect for) diverse religious communities is a must.*
*To apply:* Please send a letter of interest, current resume/CV, and
contact information for three references (at least two of which should be
able to speak to the candidates academic ability and potential) to
staff(a)pluralism.org, attn: Whittney Barth, Assistant Director.
All letters of interest should include:
- Preferred internship area(s) of interest (ethnographic field research,
web projects, archives);

is, unfortunately, unable to offer financial support for living expenses);
- Notice of any possible schedule conflicts for participation during
the summer program.
*Application deadline is 5pm EST on March 21st, 2014. Decisions will be
made on a rolling basis so interested students are encouraged to apply
earlier rather than later.* While exact dates of the internship are TBD,
the program is slated to begin on or around June 9th and conclude the week
of August 15th.
