Subject: TODAY: Paulina Alberto's search
To:
Dear all,
My name is Felipe Alfonso and I am the graduate student representative for
the Afro-Latin American Studies and Latin American History search.
On *Wednesday, March 2*, AAAS and History will be hosting *Professor
Paulina Alberto* (University of Michigan, *History
<https://lsa.umich.edu/history/people/faculty/palberto.html>* and *Romance
Languages and Literatures
<https://lsa.umich.edu/rll/people/faculty/palberto.html>*), who is being
considered for a possible tenured, joint appointment.
From *12:00 PM to 01:15 PM* (Eastern), I will be facilitating a *graduate
student meeting* with Professor Alberto over Zoom, in which you will have
the opportunity to ask questions about her research and teaching interests
and get a sense of what kind of mentor/adviser she might be. Please *register
in advance
<https://harvard.zoom.us/meeting/register/tJIvceyhrz4oH9Gy0KFFdajOTMRSuISNJg…>*
if
you wish to attend. After the meeting, I will remain in the room to hear
your thoughts on her. I will also share a Google form to allow anonymous
comments.
From *04:30 PM to 05:30 PM* (Eastern), there will be a *live Q&A* with
Professor Alberto over Zoom, in which you will have the opportunity to ask
questions about her *guest lecture
<https://harvard.zoom.us/rec/play/q0jnqVfDv5CEnYd1g7J1DABxRcZc-HyAKTmlk1fHbl…>*
to
AAAS on May 5, 2021. The search committee suggests that graduate students
review the video of that lecture prior to attending the Q&A. Please *register
in advance
<https://harvard.zoom.us/meeting/register/tJMucuusqzsqGNE9m27fg5QoEN7J8URpZ0…>*
if
you wish to attend.
You can find her *materials attached*: CV, statements, and two of her
latest articles.
If you have any questions or concerns at all, or if you want to have access
to her other publications, please do not hesitate to reach me at
felipe_alfonso(a)g.harvard.edu.
Best,
Felipe Rodrigues Alfonso
