Hi Everyone!
Marie and I can't wait to welcome many of you back for wintersession next week! To kick it off, we're planning an afternoon outing to Made-By-Me pottery painting studio in our very own Porter Square on Monday afternoon (~2-4pm).
This is the perfect opportunity to make something for that special Valentine, a birthday or thank-you gift, or perhaps something useful for the upcoming semester!
The House will cover the studio fee, paint, and a base pottery budget, and there is no artistic talent necessary (even Kate can paint [😊] )!
If you're interested in joining us, please email me directly with your name and phone number.
Looking forward to it!
Stacy and Marie

We will be going over rowing basics, scheduling, logistics, etc., so come and learn what it's all about at the meeting.
Last year, we debuted two novice boats and swept the competition by surprise, and we are looking forward to being back in full force this year -- but we can't do it without YOU!
Looking forward to seeing you on Wed!

Hi Everyone,
Tomorrow PfoHo is collaborating with Harvard Law School, the Kennedy School and the Divinity School (!) in a great double-header all about religion and guns in contemporary America.
First, at 4:30pm, there will be a reception here at PfoHo in the Hastings Room with Abigail Disney, grand-daughter of Walt, Director, and evangelical pastor Rob Schenk, the central character of a new documentary film called Armor of Light.
ARMOR OF LIGHT FOLLOWS THE STORY OF AN EVANGELICAL CHRISTIAN PASTOR, ROB SCHENK, WHO HAS AN ENCOUNTER WITH A BEREAVED WOMAN WHO HAS LOST HER YOUNG SON TO GUN VIOLENCE. HE THEN HAS A CRISIS OF CONSCIENCE OVER BEING SIMULTANEOUSLY ‘PRO-LIFE’ AND ‘PRO-GUN’. THE FILM OFFERS NO NEAT SOLUTIONS TO THE PERSONAL, RELIGIOUS, SOCIAL AND POLITICAL DILEMMAS THAT IT PORTRAYS; RATHER, IT POSES QUESTIONS AND INVITES THOUGHTFUL DISCUSSION.
Second, at 7:00pm there will be a screening of Armor of Light at the Ames Courtroom, Austin Hall, HLS, followed by a post-screening discussion with Abigail Disney and Pastor Schenk.
Don’t miss this great opportunity to engage with the makers of one of the most thoughtful and timely documentaries of the year. We’re happy to be collaborating across the University on such an important topic.
See you there!
John and Anne

TONIGHT, March 31, Pfoho will welcome Abigail Disney<https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__en.wikipedia.org_wiki_…> (grand-niece of Walt Disney!) to a special reception at the Pfoho Hastings Living Room from 4:30-5:30pm, in preparation for a film screening at 7:00 at the Law School of Ms. Disney's timely and morally important documentary, T<https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=http-3A__www.armoroflightfilm.co…>he Armor of Light<https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=http-3A__www.armoroflightfilm.co…>.<https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=http-3A__www.armoroflightfilm.co…> This film follows the story of an evangelical Christian pastor, Rob Schenk who has an encounter with a bereaved woman who lost her young son to gun violence. He then has a crisis of conscience over being simultaneously "pro-life" and "pro-gun." The film offers no neat solutions to the personal, religious, social and political dilemmas that it portrays; rather, it poses questions and invites thoughtful discussion. Rob Schenk, the pastor in the film, will join Ms. Disney and all of us at Pfoho for the reception. Join us *tonight at dinner* from
*6:30-6:35 pm*
to support our *Pfoho Repflections* speaker:
*MOSES KIM*
*A sopfomore in Pfoho, Moses lives in Wolbach basement, where most of his
time is spent huddling under blankets. He concentrates very little in
general, but he is studying History and Literature (with a secondary in
History of Science): right now, he's thinking a lot about the politics of
trauma and recovery, education and mental health, and the economic
fantasies of music competition reality TV (talk to him about Produce 101!)
When not trying to corral first-graders in Roxbury or screaming about
Meghan Trainor at the Singles Jukebox, Moses can usually be seen cuddling
with his beloved animal companion, Mr. Caterpig
<https://www.facebook.com/ddo.yaji.9>, in the dining hall. After college,
he hopes to be involved in any work where he can help young people heal,
grow, and claim their lives as their own.*
****Please be advised: the content of this speech deals with themes of
violence and trauma.****
