Come spend an early Thanksgiving feast with us -- minus the turkey, creamed onions, and sweet potatoes with melted marshmallows, and focused on the only good part: PIE!
[cid:image001.png@01D36310.4E901B90]
We will have lots, in multiple flavors: apple, pumpkin, pecan, and more. We will also have vanilla ice cream for you to dress it up with.
So come express your gratitude for PIE by joining us at 9pm tomorrow in cozy Comstock Living, complete with a holiday fire and enough for everyone.

On Saturday, October 21, we are planning a hiking pforay for all of you to Mt Monadnock (a mountain in New Hampshire), so that you all can experience the fall foliage season of New England in all its brilliant colors.
The plan is to leave in the morning by bus at around 8am, arrive in Jaffrey, NH around 10am, and climb to the top (fortified with lots of water, hot chocolate, and trail mix). The climb is roughly two miles, and most people take 90-120 minutes to reach the summit. There is no hurry, and we will naturally separate into smaller groups climbing at a pace that is comfortable for everyone.
Once we have conquered the summit, we will settle down for a picnic lunch, a well-deserved rest and good conversation, all while gazing out at the 360 degree views of New England at the peak of the vibrant fall foliage season. Bring cameras!
The bus will be waiting for us when we climb back down. We expect to be home before 5pm.
If you want to come, you need to sign up on this <https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSempPVC5pscGRWahqdhpmcjD9_WGqc89U_…> form. I will keep the sign-up sheet open for one week – until Sunday October 8 at midnight, and I will send out a reminder email on Friday. We will be able to take close to 50 people, so we expect that everyone who signs up will be able to attend! That said, once we know the numbers of people interested, we will ask you to definitively confirm your participation.
Looking forward to a day of beauty, good fellowship and outdoor adventure!
Anne

Dear Pfoho,
Starting this Saturday, we are proud to introduce a new Pfoho tradition: Saturday afternoon High Tea at Annie’s English Rose Tea Shoppe:
On periodic Saturdays, from 4-5pm, Comstock Living Room will be transformed into a rose-themed, cozy English tea house. There, you will have the chance to sit and be served our rendition of one of Britain’s more civilized traditions: high tea. On the menu: a selection of finger sandwiches (cucumber, salmon and ham), home-made scones slathered with jam and clotted cream (if you have never tried this, you need to), and a selection of home-made small cakes. All this washed down – in a refined way, of course -- with cups of freshly-brewed tea, recently brought over by John personally from England. We may even have some live music tinkling in the background, to further set the mood...
[mage result for clotted cream][mage result for afternoon tea][mage result for afternoon tea]
We plan to lay on some 3-4 high teas each semester. Look for a formal invitation from us for the first one, this coming Saturday, later tonight or tomorrow, with a link to sign up!
As they say in England, there’s always time for a cuppa!
Anne and John

This event is not one to miss!
The entire resident and non-resident tutor team will set up tables in the dining hall, along with upperclassmen advisers and HoCo reps. Come meet them and talk about courses, fellowships, research opportunities, careers, study abroad, and more!
Eat cake and fruit, talk to at least 10 advisers, collect fun stickers, and win an exclusive Pfoho prize!
In case you're not yet convinced, here are some ,more reasons to attend advising night:
* Meet our talented and knowledgeable non-resident tutor staff.
* Get advice about fellowship and summer opportunities.
* Learn more about conducting research.
* Talk to pre-professional tutors about your interests in law, business, medicine, and public health.
* Talk with specialty advising tutors about wellness, identities, public service, and more.
* If you're a Government, Psychology, Economics, or Sociology concentrator, get to know your concentration advisers.
* If you are a sophomore, talk with your advisor in order to get your Crimson Cart advising hold lifted so that you can enroll in courses.

Hi NRTs,
I hope the end of the school year went well and you're enjoying a restful
start to the summer. I'd like to thank you for your work supporting the
students of Pforzheimer House; it's been wonderful to see so many of you
connecting with students over meals in the dhall, at interest meetings, or
at House events throughout the year! Thank you for your willingness to be
available to our students, whether it be in person or via email. If we
haven't had the opportunity to meet yet, my name is Heather Jacques. I'm
the new Academic Coordinator, taking over for Abby as of last April. I hope
to get to meet you in person soon!
In the meantime, in order to get ready for the coming school year (I know,
already!) *please fill out this form by July 1, to indicate whether or not
you plan to rejoin us next school year
<https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdiHz7ao46YC3aeQPfpzFhMbmKGVBON1WG…>*.
I'll use that info to help generate the next round of contracts and make
sure you're set up with meals so we can hit the ground running in September!
As always, pfeel pfree to reach out with any questions!
Best,
Heather
