This is a monthly update on opportunities to learn and talk about consent, relationships, preventing gender-based harassment, and sexual health. ------------------------------------------------------------ This Month: * Meet the CARE tutors and students in Pfoho * Learn about domestic violence awareness month and how to support a friend or loved one who has experienced relationship violence * Show up for one of our biweekly CARE dinners * Ask “Can you tell me what Title IX is?!” and “What is OSAPR?" * Read about CARE in the news Meet the CARE tutors and students in Pfoho But, first, What is CARE? CARE is Consent Advocates & Relationship Educators. We are students and tutors who believe in a campus culture free from the threat or experience of sexual violence. We care about consent, healthy relationships, and gender equity. We plan events in Pfoho, we can answer your questions, and we can connect you to resources across Harvard. Your CARE tutors are a resource if you have, at any point in your life, experienced gender-based harassment, sexual assault or interpersonal violence. We are knowledgeable about campus resources, the University-wide Title IX policy and we are committed to ensuring your access to support services on or off campus. We work closely with the Office of Sexual Assault Prevention & Response. We are delighted to introduce to your CARE tutors (Lydia, James, Cassie) and CARE student (Siavash). I love crocheting (and hope to see some of you at the weekly crocheting/knitting circle in the house), cats, comedy, architecture and baking. I've been interested in Title IX activism and survivor's rights since undergrad, and I'm a CARE tutor because I want to provide avenues of support, and platforms for discussion on topics of every aspect of relationships and consent. What does it mean at Harvard? Title IX is the federal civil rights law that prohibits sex discrimination in education. What is OSAPR? Hello Pfoho -- Are you drawn to the storybook image of sipping tea, nibbling cookies, and knitting or crocheting by the fireside? Would you like to experience it yourself? Then you will want to get involved with Pfoho’s newest small group, Pfiber Arts! Starting in a week – on November 5 – students and tutors alike will gather by the fireplace on Comstock Living in a cozy circle for an hour on Sunday afternoons, from 4-5 pm. Tea and cookies will be provided, as you make scarves, hats, sweaters, blankets, and more! Supplies will also be provided, and help will be available. Even if you have never knitted or crocheted before, but always wanted to try, please come! Your creations could make great holiday gifts, and if there is enough interest, the group might even knit or crochet for charity! Comstock Living Room is transformed into an authentic British diner, where you sit and are served a traditional English breakfast, made-to-order by your faculty deans and elf team. [PFOHO] Quad Driveway Closure TONIGHT @ 9:30p

REMINDER - Shuttle stop moves tonight during Heaven and Hell, 10/27 Per the usual each year, the Quad Driveway will be closed from approximately 9:30pm TONIGHT, Friday, 10/27, until approximately 1:00am for Currier's Heaven and Hell party. This is done each year to make sure that moving vehicles are not in close proximity to students waiting in line for the dance. During the closure, the shuttle stop (drop-off and pick-up) will be relocated to the Shepard Street end of the driveway.
