Just a short comment on the paper:
- it is reasonable, but there is not much new in it.
- we can keep it for future references to reviews on correlation analysis.
- I like the picture, almost Salvador Dali

> Workshop on Quantum Effects in Biological Systems - QuEBS 2009
> 7-10 July 2009, Lisbon, Portugal
> http://sqig.math.ist.utl.pt/lqcil/quebs09/
>
>
> Scope:
>
> The identification and study of quantum mechanical phenomena in biological
> systems is an emerging area of interdisciplinary research spanning physics,
> chemistry, biology, and quantum information science. In this workshop, we
> intend to explore the interplay between quantum coherence and environmental
> effects in both driven and undriven biomolecular systems. In particular, the
> role of quantum dynamical coherence and decoherence in excitonic energy
> transfer within chromophoric systems, such as photosynthetic complexes, will
> be addressed.
>
> Moreover, the existence of quantum entanglement in the dynamics of such
> systems will also be discussed. Furthermore, this workshop could provide new
> insight for engineering artificial photosystems, such as quantum dots and
> dendrimers, to achieve optimal energy transport by exploiting their
> environmental effects, with potential applications for the development of
> more efficient solar cells or photosensors.
>
> The workshop will be constituted by both invited and contributed talks, and
> will include plenty of time for brainstorming and discussions on this novel
> area.

Hi everyone,
Tomorrow James is up, at 11am in the room by the Dept Center (M217). The
time alloted for grouop meeting is 1 hour, and since people will start
leaving 5 minutes before the meeting ends, we have roughly 55 min. The rule
is then that whoever is giving group meeting that day needs to be there in
advance and have the projector set up and ready before the meeting time.
Ivan is up this coming Monday but we will meet in the Div Room (M102)
instead. I have added to the google calendar the place where group meeting
will be held this semester. We will be jumping between M102 and M217.
Cheers,
-A
