Hi
Here's the abstract for Friday's good meeting. As of now, all the schedule
is confirmed.
Roberto
*TITLE: Theoretical Characterization of Charge Transport in Organic
Molecular
Crystals*
An overview of the theoretical characterization of the charge transport
parameters in organic semiconductors will be presented. We investigate
widely studied and well-known organic molecular semiconductors such as
oligoacene and oligothiophene derivatives. The local and nonlocal
electron-phonon interactions in oligoacene crystals are addressed using an
approach based on density functional theory. Within this framework, we
describe the vibronic coupling interactions in oligoacene cations, [1] the
electron-phonon coupling in oligoacene crystals, [2] and the charge
transport properties in small organic molecular crystals. [3]

Hi
I've received a lot of enthusiasm for meeting with Sigifredo, so
unfortunately, there will have to be some overlap of people meeting with
him. This is the meeting schedule with Sigifredo on Friday. Please let me
know if you can't make it at that time. The title of the talk is:
"Theoretical Characterization of Charge Transport in Organic Molecular
Crystals"

Hi All
Sigifredo Sanchez-Carrera from the Brédas Group at Georgia Tech is coming to
visit on Friday. He will be giving a Presentation of his work on Friday at 4
PM (expect Abstract soon). His interests include organic molecular crystals
and its properties as well as solid-state chemistry principles. More can be
found on his webpage (http://www.prism.gatech.edu/~rs353/)
I am planning to schedule ~30 mins. one-on-one meetings with some of you. Of
direct relevance are those interested in the screensaver project (Leslie,
Ivan, Prof. Ju, Masoud). Please let me know which times are available for
you, so I can start setting up his schedule ASAP.
Let me know who else is interested, so I can include you.
Best regards
Roberto

Initiative in Innovative Computing @ Harvard
Seminar Series
Wednesday, February 6, 2008; 4:00pm
60 Oxford Street, Room 330
Dr. Fran Berman, Director, San Diego Supercomputer Center Professor
High Performance Computing Endowed Chair, UC San Diego
Seminar Title:
De-constructing Cyberinfrastructure
Abstract:
Cyberinfrastructure, the integrated framework of enabling information
and computational technologies, experts, and tools, has emerged as a
foundation for applications in the Information Age. The vision of
Cyberinfrastructure is powerful and important, yet designing,
building, deploying, evaluating, and funding capable, useful, and
usable Cyberinfrastructure is a an immense challenge. In this talk,
San Diego Supercomputer Center Director Fran Berman discusses the
challenges and opportunities of building and deploying
Cyberinfrastructure as a continuous bootstrapping process that
furthers both scientific progress and technology capability.
Upcoming IIC Seminars:
Continue to stay up to date with our IIC Seminar Schedule.
