Hi all,
This award is a good opportunity for postdocs, I got it last year.
They cover up to 1,000 USD for travel expenses and it is quite easy to
apply, you just need to fill a small online form saying how the event
you are going to is important for your career development.

Hi Everyone:
I wanted to take a moment to give a Flaskbox update and say thank you for sending all the files. As a result of your generosity we got hit with a flood of 300,000 files, and, issues we did not expect emerged in our user setup code.
For those of you who have shared folders, but have not gotten a Flaskbox directory yet, we have received your requests and will add you to the system as soon as we have the user setup issues resolved.
In the interim, if you notice any odd behavior or have any suggestions for us, please let us know.
Again, thank you all for helping us through this process. We will keep you updated as things develop.
With Respect,
Team Flaskbox
Dear Friends:
Please join me in welcoming our newest postdoctoral researcher, Mr.
Christopher Wilmer, PhD.
Chris joins us from Northwestern University where he recently completed a
PhD in Chemical Engineering. Prior to that, Chris received a BASc in
Engineering Science from the University of Toronto.
During his time with us, Chris' research will focus in the area of the
Harvard Clean Energy Project.
He is currently seated in the front office (with Suleyman, Jarrod, and
Joon). Please take a moment to stop by and introduce yourself.
Welcome, Dr. Wilmer!

Dear All,
It is with great disappointment in the US government that I tell you
that due to the NIH shutdown today, Attila Szabo has just informed us
that he will NOT be able to make the trip, even though we are paying for
it. As a result, all of the previously scheduled meetings with him are
cancelled.
Thus today there will be no general student meeting with him, and no
dinner as previously planned.
I apologize for the late notice, as he only knew this morning as well.
I plan to spend some of the time I would have spent hosting him, writing
letters to select members of congress to let them know how they are
damaging science with their ineptitude. If you are equally upset and
have the time, I encourage you to do the same.
Sorry again for the disappointing news,
~Jarrod
Dear Friends,
On Thursday, October 3, there will be an ITAMP topical lunch discussion.
Tea Room (P-226) @ CfA (60 Garden Street)
Time: 12:00-1:30
As always pizza will be served.
Speaker: Aditya Shashi
Title: Interaction quench in the 1D Bose gas
Abstract:
We obtain results on interaction quenches in a non-quadratic continuum
system, the 1D Bose gas described by the integrable Lieb-Liniger model, and
we show that in the long time limit integrability leads to significant
deviations from the predictions of the grand canonical ensemble. I will
describe how we take into account the conserve charges associated with the
integrability of the model to formulate the Generalized Gibbs Ensemble
which correctly predicts the asymptotic steady state.
Looking forward to seeing you there,
