Tuesday, May 26: Ruth Meinzen-Dick, Senior Research Fellow at the International Food
Policy Research Institute based in Washington DC, discusses "Institutional Dimensions
of Climate Change: The Role of Property Rights and Collective Action" at the
Frontiers in Sustainable Development Seminar.
Saturday, May 30: The Microbial Science Initiative presents an afternoon of learning and
an interactive marketplace for non-scientists on "Multitalented Microbes: how these
tiny cells are transforming your life."
Tuesday, June 2: HUCE Faculty Associate James Engell, the Gurney Professor of English
Literature and Professor of Comparative Literature, delivers an address about the
environment, economics, human habit, learning, and ethics at the annual Phi Beta Kappa
Oration.
