Seminar on Modern Optics and Spectroscopy
Electronic Energy Transfer in Molecular Aggregates
Robert Silbey, MIT
TUESDAY, October 5, 2010
Grier A Room: 34-401A
12-1 pm
Förster energy transfer is ubiquitous in chemistry and now in biology. I
will discuss a) how it can be understood theoretically; b) what changes
needed to be made to think about transfer in aggregates: and c) when it
fails to describe the major mechanism of energy transfer.
Refreshments will be served after the lecture
