Lecturers x 3 & Chairs/Readers x 3 - SK2934
As part of the second phase of the Scottish Universities Physics
Alliance (SUPA), we are seeking to expand our activities by appointing
outstanding researchers to six faculty positions: three at
Professorship/ Readership level, and three at a Lecturership level.
Applicants for the Lecturer positions should have a strong track record
in publishing internationally leading research, and a clear vision of
how their work would complement our existing experimental and
theoretical research strengths. Applicants for the Chair/Reader
positions should have, in addition, strong records of scientific
leadership and a proven ability to secure major research-funding awards
and to establish and sustain national and international collaborations.
Applications are welcomed from theoretical and experimental physicists
in the broad areas of condensed matter physics and photonics (including
biophotonics). Applications should include a covering letter stating
the level of appointment being sought, a one-page summary of research
achievements to date, a one-page statement of the applicant’s vision for
his/her research at St Andrews and a full curriculum vitae including a
list of refereed publications together with contact details for three
referees.
We will begin processing applications on Monday 17th September 2012 and
so applications should be received by Friday 14th September 2012.
