The Rectorate of the University Vienna invites applications for the position
of a University Assistant (UniversitätsassistentIn) – tenure track.
The position is to be filled by March 1st 2011 at the Faculty of Physics in
the field of Computational Materials Science.
Position Offering:
Successful candidates have an outstanding research record or show
exceptional promise in any area of computational theoretical solid state
physics including - but not restricted to - nanostructured materials,
surfaces/interfaces, alloy modelling or semiconductor modelling. Outstanding
candidates in closely related fields may also be considered. Expertise in
the field of multi-scale modelling and ab initio calculations will be
appreciated. The potential of strong interactions with existing experimental
and theoretical groups in Vienna, in particular, with the
Sonderforschungsbereich "ViCom", is highly desirable.
