The *University of Nevada, Reno* Department of Chemistry is seeking
candidates for a tenure-track *Assistant Professor in
Theoretical/Computational Materials Chemistry*. Duties include teaching at
the undergraduate and graduate levels and establishing an active and
innovative research program.

The University of Nevada, Reno is the land grant institution for the State
of Nevada with an enrollment of nearly 21,000 students. The department
offers B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in Chemistry, as well as an
interdisciplinary Ph.D. in Chemical Physics. The department has 16 full
time tenure-track and three lecturer faculty members, housed in a
four-story building with state of the art research facilities.
Undergraduate laboratory courses are taught in our modern instructional
facilities in the nearby Davidson Mathematics and Science Center.
Nestled in the valley of the Truckee River on the eastern slope of the
Sierra Nevada, Reno offers an excellent quality of life. The region
combines a mild high desert climate with many nearby recreational
opportunities. Lake Tahoe is less than an hour away by car and Yosemite
National Park and the Black Rock Desert are both within a three hour drive.
Featuring high tech and tourist industries, Reno offers entertainment and
cultural opportunities far in excess of those typically found in a city of
400,000.
