During December 6th-12th 2010 the CQT Singapore will host the first AQuA
grad student congress. AQuA is an initiative of Imperial College (London),
Massachusetts Institute of Technology (Boston), Institute for Quantum
Computing (Waterloo) and Center for Quantum Technologies (Singapore) to
foster bonds between institution and to unify education in the fast growing
field of Quantum Information. As part of this initiative, we, the grad
students of CQT, are organizing the first AQuA congress. This gathering will
provide a unique opportunity to present your research to fellow students
free from the pressures of a normal conference. As a student from the
participating institutes, both experimental and theoretical, you are welcome
to join us for the AQuA congress 2010 in Singapore.
The five days of the congress will be divided between morning sessions
consisting of 20-minute talks by selected graduate students followed by
interactive sessions, lab tours, poster sessions and chats with people from
CQT. The evening will be devoted to leisure as we show you around our
city. For those who are interested there will be a weekend trip to Bintan,
a tropical island in Indonesia, after the end of the congress.
Accommodation and lots of |free food>+|coffee> will be provided for visiting
students, so that local expenses will be minimal. Due to general sponsorship
we can avoid any conference fee and the participants have to bear only their
travel costs.
We invite all participants to present a poster. Here are some important
dates to note:
*Registration deadline:* 15th October.
*Submission deadline for talk abstracts:* 15th October.
*Notifications of acceptance:* 2nd November
Please kindly spread the word and hope to see you in Singapore.
Best Regards,
Bess Fang (CQT)
