William S. Reeburgh is a Professor Marine and Terrestrial Biogeochemistry at the
University of California Irvine. He received his B. S. in chemistry from the University of
Oklahoma in 1961, and M. A. and Ph.D. degrees in oceanography from Johns Hopkins
University in 1964 and 1967. Before joining UCI he was Professor of Marine Science at the
University of Alaska, Fairbanks. He is the editor of the American Geophysical Union
journal, Global Biogeochemical Cycles. His work is sponsored by NSF, EPA, NASA and DOE.
