Subject: [Aspuru-Guzik group list] Happy new year, and chair races.
To: A-G Group <aspuru-list(a)lists.fas.harvard.edu>
Dear group,
I had a small visit to the lab this Monday morning, but I am on a plane
again! This Thursday, I am coming back for good. This time, because I went
to a stat. mech. conference in Mexico after the holidays, the time away felt
longer to me than usual. I wish you all the best of 2010.
One of the things that I realized during my trip is that I owe many chair
races to many of you, thanks to the productive 2009. I think that we should
schedule one hour after the next group meeting, to carry out our traditional
chair race. If you have any other ideas for a race event (maybe an actual
running race somewhere on campus, or another activity) to claim the Tequila
bottle/paper deal, let me know, as I am a bit worried of disturbing the
Cohen-ites with 10 or so races in a row :P
For the purpose of the races, Cesar (who was with me in Mexico at that
event) and myself purchased a set of four new wrestling masks to add to your
choosing options (Now the group has 7 masks possible for the race).
Also, as a christmas present, I have a wrestling souvenir for you (to keep
up wiht the theme), as I get to see you all in my office, you will get your
lovely souvenir, for yours to keep :)
In any case, if I haven't heard from you in a while, let's catch up from
Thursday, onwards, I will try to stop by with each one of you and talk about
how the projects are developing.
Cheers,
Alan
