Hello:
We are currently finishing some GPU-related runs and the only place we can
do them is through the gpgpu_cdi queue, which should be a queue for
benchmarking GPU calculations. However, in the recent month it has been full
with non-GPU related runs.
Pleasedo not run CPU-only calculations there. There are other queues, such
as the ones from odyssey, nnin (Mike would be glad to add you as an nnin
user), lsdiv (which is our own private one) that are more proper for such
runs. In fact, the nnin queue gives you the highest priority of all.
If you have pending runs on gpgpu_cdi, please send them again to the other
cluster.
Please let me know if you need help signing up to the queues related above.
Sorry if this e-mail does not apply to you, but this is the only way to
reach everyone in the group.

Title: Electron transport and spin qubit experiments on single-donor silicon
devices
Abstract: I will present the most recent results on the phosphorus donor
devices at the Centre for Quantum Computer Technology at University of New
South Wales. Namely, I discuss electron transport experiments through a
single phosphorus donor in silicon and show the Zeemann splitting of the
neutral donor state. Furthermore, I show that the previously anomalous
features in the stability diagrams are due to inhomogeneous density of
states in the reservoirs. Finally, I present very recent results on the
single-shot measurement of a single donor electron spin and the lifetime of
the spin excited state in a qubit device.

**************************************************************************
4th "Time-Dependent Density-Functional Theory: Prospects and Applications"
January 2-15th 2010
Benasque Center for Physics, Spain
All persons who wish to participate should fill out the application form
at http://benasque.org/2009tddft/
In the comments section, please indicate if you wish to participate in
the Summer Summer School or in the Workshop (or in both).
For participants coming from the USA, please check the following address
for support:
http://www.mcc.uiuc.edu/travel/
School only:
As we have a very limited number of places for the school, students
will be selected from among an open pool of applicants who have
demonstrated a strong interest in computational sciences, applied to
chemistry, physics, materials science and biology. Therefore, in order
that we can make a reasonable selection, we ask that *all* candidates
include in the comments section the following information:
*) Date of birth, gender
*) Motivation/Why they want to come (just a couple of lines is
enough)
*) What is their current and previous positions (if PhD or Post-
doc state your supervisor).
We will *not* accept applications that do not include this information.
Furthermore, we will give priority to students willing to participate in
both the Summer School and the Workshop.
We also have a certain number of grants available that cover traveling
and part of the stay in Benasque. If you want to apply for a grant,
please indicate explicitly that you wish to be supported in the comments
section, and explain why (just a couple of lines is enough).
Hi everyone,
Tomorrow we will have Mikko Möttönen coming to visit us. Mikko heads
the Quantum
Computing and Devices group <http://tfy.tkk.fi/qcd/> at Helsinki University
of Technology and he will give a talk on spin qubits on silicon tomorrow at
2:30. Contact me if you would like to schedule time to meet with Mikko.

Guys,
I am looking for my book: "*Phonons in Perfect Lattices and in Lattices
with Point Imperfections*, edited by R. W. H. Stevenson. It is an old (1966)
dark-brown book with a hard cover, approx. 400 pages. Could you please check
if it is in your library?
Thanks,
Semion
