Hi Nicholas, great to hear from you! Yes, I periodically remove the old
group members while I'm adding the new ones, so that is what happened. I've
copied the group list so they can read your note. Good luck to you and keep
in touch! Best, Anna

Hello:
As you know the GPU Workshop will take place towards the end of the week.
Therefore, please keep Orgoglio's use at a minimum on Monday and Tuesday and
not at all from Wednesday to Friday. This includes the gpgpu_cdi queue on
odyssey.
Thanks!

Subject: 2009/10 Grad student-PostDoc seminar series
To: aspuru(a)chemistry.harvard.edu
Cc: anna(a)chemistry.harvard.edu
Dear Prof Aspuru-Guzik,
Last fall was the inaugural semester of the CCB weekly student/postdoc
seminar series. During the lunch hour of each Friday throughout the
academic year, two students or postdocs from the department gave 25-minute
talks describing their research to their peers. With the help and
participation of 29 out of 30 CCB and affiliated labs, the series was a
great success and received favorable reviews in student surveys. Among the
series’ benefits were increased interaction among students and valuable
practice in preparing and giving presentations to a general scientific
audience.
As the organizers of the seminar series, we are now beginning to plan for
the upcoming 2009-10 academic year. Key to the series’ success, of course,
is securing a variety of student and postdoctoral speakers from diverse labs
and areas of interest. We would greatly appreciate your assistance in
recruiting such speakers. Specifically, we ask that you recommend two
trainees from your laboratory to give talks during the year – one each for
the fall and spring semesters. You may do so by replying to this email or
by returning the form that has been distributed to your mailbox. Your
response by August 5, 2009, would be particularly helpful to us in planning
the series. Please also let us know within this time frame if you would
prefer for us to approach your students directly about participating in the
seminars. Finally, please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions
or suggestions for improvement regarding the series. Thank you in advance
for your assistance and support!
Best regards,

Dear Group,
The coffee is running out. So, there will be a money collection during
Friday's group meeting. Since I probably won't feel like chasing you around
to pay up, there will be consequences if you are late with coffee payment.
I'm thinking of sending the Baba Yaga after you. Semion and Dmitrij can
confirm how terrible that would be.
I have a list on my desk of how much people paid last time, and unless your
coffee habits changed in the meantime, let's keep that amount constant.
Ivan
