Hey group,
Does anyone know the whereabouts of the black plastic poster tube (with blue

No questions asked. :)
Thanks,

Subject: 2010 Summer Program Applications
To: saykin(a)fas.harvard.edu
Dear Physicist,
Electronic applications for our Summer 2010 Program are up on our website,
www.aspenphys.org. The deadline to apply is January 31. APPLICATIONS WILL
NOT BE ACCEPTED AFTER THIS DATE. You will need your email address and
password if you applied on this system since 2005. If you have ever been to
the Aspen Center for Physics, you have a record with us. Please read the
log-in screens and follow the instructions so you don't create a second
record which must be purged if the system is to work correctly. If you
applied already and did not use your old password, you created a second
record for yourself and will get this message even though your application
has been submitted. I will be happy to supply your password if you have
forgotten it, or if you have not been here since 2005 and do not have one.
Our summer poster is attached, plus there is more information about the
summer workshops on our website.

Dear group,
I had a small visit to the lab this Monday morning, but I am on a plane
again! This Thursday, I am coming back for good. This time, because I went
to a stat. mech. conference in Mexico after the holidays, the time away felt
longer to me than usual. I wish you all the best of 2010.
One of the things that I realized during my trip is that I owe many chair
races to many of you, thanks to the productive 2009. I think that we should
schedule one hour after the next group meeting, to carry out our traditional
chair race. If you have any other ideas for a race event (maybe an actual
running race somewhere on campus, or another activity) to claim the Tequila
bottle/paper deal, let me know, as I am a bit worried of disturbing the
Cohen-ites with 10 or so races in a row :P
For the purpose of the races, Cesar (who was with me in Mexico at that
event) and myself purchased a set of four new wrestling masks to add to your
choosing options (Now the group has 7 masks possible for the race).
Also, as a christmas present, I have a wrestling souvenir for you (to keep
up wiht the theme), as I get to see you all in my office, you will get your
lovely souvenir, for yours to keep :)
In any case, if I haven't heard from you in a while, let's catch up from
Thursday, onwards, I will try to stop by with each one of you and talk about
how the projects are developing.
Cheers,
Alan

For all the people in the group who are obsessed with the
Fenna-Matthews-Olson complex,
Here's an article from Wolfgang Domcke which claims that the current
theoretical modeling of the FMO cannot reproduce the signals in the
photon-echo experiments.
Enjoy,
Joel.
