Hello everyone,
Thank you all for the nice birthday wishes! To celebrate my birthday and my
recent move back to Cambridge, I wanted to go John Harvard tonight and would
be very happy if you had time for that, too. It's very short notice but if
you have time, I'd like to meet here at the lab at 7pm and walk over to John
Harvard for a round (or two) of beers.
Hope to see you tonight.
Best wishes,
Dmitrij

Dear group,
Coffee is running out. Our proven reserves should only last another month or
so. In a move that will not reduce our reliance on foreign coffee, I will be
buying another giant box of Lavazza.
For those new to the group, it works based on the unfailing honor principle.
You honorably estimate how many coffees you drink every week from the coffee
machine, rounded off to the nearest 0.25. Then you multiply that by 4 and
you give me that many dollars. For example, if you drink one coffee every
business day, you give me $20. This should then last another eight months or
so. Free-riders are severely punished.
The payment is due by next Wednesday. Those who are late will be charged a
$50 processing fee.

Hello:
As agreed at the last group meeting, I'll be taking care of the SVN
repository usage. Please let me know if you need to add a new repository or
have questions related to it.
If you are a linux user, please read below.
Alán and Ville just pointed out for me that on Ubuntu Lucid Lynx (10.04) and
similar, repositories will not work when they were checked out under a https
url. There is a quick workaround to this issue to avoid re-checking out the
repository..
First, to check if you have this problem, go to your repository and type:
svn info
If the URL has https, then do the following:
svn switch --relocate https://secure3.svnrepository.com/s_aspuru/AAAAhttp://aspurugroup.svnrepository.com/svn/AAAA
where AAAA is the name of your repository.
After this, you should be set to go. Let me know if you have any problems
with this.

In photosynthesis, the Sun's energy is harvested and converted into
biomass, greening the planet. Evidence is growing that quantum
mechanics plays a part in that process. But exactly how, and why,
remains to be explored.
