Dear group members.
Tomorrow, instead of group meeting, we will meet for *Group Photo*. If
anybody can volunteer a fancy camera (DSLR), etc. Let me know. I have a
tripod.
Come with your favorite outfit.
We will also discuss group issues, ideas, etc. before the photo. Please
email me if you can bring a camera. I have one somewhere but better if
somebody volunteers.
Thank you all!

Hi everyone,
We need a volunteer to give a talk on July 24th at the group meeting. This
is an opportunity to share your work with all of us and get feedback on
your preliminary (or final) results.
The first one to reply gets the spot.
Best,
Felipe
Dear all,
We all had an impromptu world cup watching fun at the 7-1 trouncing of
Brazil by Germany.
Some of us decided to continue the fun. I made a reservation for 12 at 3.45
PM in the Tavern at Porter Square to watch Argentina v Netherlands.
Please let me know if you are coming so I can adjust the reservation for
either less people or more.
Best,
Alan

Subject: QIP 2015 conference, January 12-16, 2015 in Sydney
To: Ronald de Wolf <Ronald.de.Wolf(a)cwi.nl>
Dear all,
This is the first call for submissions for the 18th Conference on
Quantum Information Processing (QIP 2015), which will take place
January 12-16, 2015, in Sydney, Australia, hosted by UTS. Quantum
Information Processing is a rapidly developing research field spanning
theoretical physics, mathematics, and computer science. As the name
implies, the field extends information processing (including computing
and cryptography) to physical regimes where quantum effects become
significant.
Important dates:
* Submission of talks deadline: September 12, 2014
* Submission of posters deadline: October 25, 2014
* Tutorial session: January 10-11, 2015
* QIP 2015 conference: January 12-16, 2015
Further information about the conference and the submission process
may be found at
http://quantum-lab.org/qip2015/index.php
Best regards,
Ronald de Wolf, on behalf of the Program Committee and the local organizers

Hi everyone,
Just wanted to point out that the group meeting schedule I inherited from
Ryan is available here
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Akel9wmxwzE0dG9XWG5XU0wwRUNxS0…
The next group talks until the end of August are already set, so please
take the time to check if you are scheduled to give a talk this summer.
Some of you are not in the list (specially the new group members) so if
your name is not in the spreadsheet, please append it to the list so you
can be scheduled to give talks.
Suggestions/questions/complaints are welcome.
Best,
Felipe Herrera
