RENEWABLE THREE-YEAR FACULTY/ADMINISTRATIVE POSITION IN HUMAN NEUROSCIENCE AT DAVIDSON COLLEGE
The Faculty/Administrative Position is a three-year renewable appointment teaching jointly in the Department of Psychology and Neuroscience Program [60%] with administrative responsibilities in the Center for Teaching and Learning [40%], beginning August 1, 2016. Human neuroscience would include (but is not limited to) the following areas of expertise: clinical neuroscience, cognitive neuroscience, human neuropsychology, or social neuroscience. Candidates competitive for the 60% teaching responsibilities should have a Ph.D. in psychology and be prepared to teach a total of three undergraduate courses a year that might include introductory psychology, a specialized course in human neuroscience, and other courses supporting psychology, neuroscience, and health sciences. The department has particular interest in supporting the biological and physiological foundations of psychology. For the 40% administrative responsibilities, candidates will work with the Associate Dean of Faculty to design and conduct assessment and evaluation of teaching, research, and grant activities in Academic Affairs. In this role, the candidate will be a member of the Center for Teaching and Learning team, contributing expertise and/or strong professional interest in working with faculty and staff to improve student learning. Candidates for this position will not be expected to develop a research program.
