Seeking a research assistant for an international scientific project on the relation between Olfaction and emotion.
Research assistant needed for testing patients in MGH with simple behavioral psychological tests concerning emotional perception, emotional experience and moral decision making. Testing involves computer tasks, paper/pencil inventories, and olfaction and taste/flavor tests (duration of each testing session ~1-1.5 hours).
Work load is 5 hours a week. Exact days will be coordinated with the RA, depending on patient availability. Pay is $36 per hour and the position is open for 12 months.
Please note that actual work load is flexible: some weeks may go a bit over 5 hours and some weeks a bit below 5 hours (some weeks may have no patients at all) - but the position will pay the same flat rate per 5 hours a week. So, the overall annual pay will be $8640.
Requirements: The RA must be committed for one year minimum, reliable and comfortable working with patients in a hospital setting. Second/third year psychology students, experienced with running psychological lab testing, and /or clinical patient work are especially welcome.
The RA will be required to go through brief MGH staff health-clearance to work with patients and will undergo brief training before starting. Supervision will be available during the year, as needed.
To apply — please email catherineholland(a)fas.harvard.edu<mailto:catherineholland@fas.harvard.edu> with a resume and brief cover letter describing relevant experience.

Dear Ms. Raia,
I am a cognitive neuroscientist at Boston University School of Medicine and VA Boston. My laboratory (http://www.bu.edu/ballab<https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=http-3A__www.bu.edu_ballab&d=DwM…>) will be hiring two post-doctoral fellows and a research assistant this fall/winter. I was hoping you could pass along the announcement for this opportunity to your Psychology/Neuroscience community of post-bacs and post-docs looking for jobs.
Thanks so much for your attention. I have attached the job ad, and it is also on our lab website (http://www.bu.edu/ballab/BALLAB_ad_2017.pdf<https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=http-3A__www.bu.edu_ballab_BALLA…>).

Stanford University's Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences is seeking to hire full time post-doctoral fellows for their Cognitive & Systems Neuroscience Laboratory. This lab is headed by Dr. Vinod Menon who has broad multidisciplinary expertise that spans several scientific disciplines and has published extensively on various aspects of human cognition and brain function.
Explore our lab website for more information: http://med.stanford.edu/scsnl.html<https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=http-3A__med.stanford.edu_scsnl.…>.
Please, distribute job postings (below) appropriately in your department. We thank you for your support.
POSTDOCTORAL FELLOWSHIP IN DEVELOPMENTAL COGNITIVE NEUROSCIENCE
Currently Available: The Stanford Cognitive and Systems Neuroscience Laboratory invites applications for postdoctoral fellowships in developmental cognitive neuroscience. We seek candidates with strong research backgrounds to work on NIH-funded projects combining multimodal brain imaging (fMRI, MRI, DTI) with cognitive modeling and advanced computational brain network analyses in one or more of the following areas: learning and memory, numerical cognition and reading, cognitive training, and brain network development. Populations of interest include typically developing children and adults, children with learning disabilities, and individuals with autism. The successful candidate will develop a vigorous research program that contributes to, and complements, ongoing research studies of typical and atypical neurocognitive development. The candidate will have access to state-of-the-art brain imaging facilities and computational resources at Stanford University. Candidates must have a PhD and research experience in cognitive neuroscience, brain development, cognitive science, psychology, or related fields. Strong computational skills and expertise in fMRI data analysis are highly desirable. Please email a CV, statement of research interests, relevant background, list of publications, and three letters of recommendation to Drs. Vinod Menon and Aarthi Padmanabhan at scsnl.stanford+postdoc(a)gmail.com<mailto:scsnl.stanford+postdoc@gmail.com>.

Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position focusing primarily on a 3-year NSF-funded research project in the Georgetown Laboratory for Relational Cognition, directed by Adam Green. The project will investigate learning in real world high school classrooms using longitudinal neuroimaging and behavioral measurement to assess learning-related changes in brain and cognition. This work will focus on the development of spatial STEM concepts and relational reasoning strategies. The postdoc will directly oversee project-dedicated research assistants and graduate students who will support data collection both in the high schools (behavioral) and at Georgetown (MRI). There will be ample opportunity, dependent on the post-doc's level of interest, to engage with advanced multivariate MRI data analysis. The project will be conducted in collaboration with laboratories at Dartmouth, James Madison, and Northwestern.
Applicants should hold a Ph.D. (or anticipate a Ph.D. no later than spring of 2018) in an area related to education and/or cognitive neuroscience. Candidates with a background in education research who are interested in neuroimaging, or candidates with a neuroimaging background who are interested in education would be well-suited to this position. This research will contribute to bridging the gap between the real world classroom and the cognitive neuroscience lab; the ideal candidate will be comfortable in both settings. Favorable consideration will be given to applicants with a record of productivity and strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
Interested candidates should send a CV and a letter of application describing research interests and professional goals to Nhi Dinh (Nhi.Dinh(a)georgetown.edu<mailto:Nhi.Dinh@georgetown.edu>), and should indicate three professional references who can readily provide letters of recommendation. The start date is likely to be in late spring/early summer 2018, but we aim to make a hiring decision well ahead of that time and review of applications will begin in fall 2017.
