McLean Hospital, the McLean Imaging Center, and the Department of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School, invite applications for a faculty position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level from qualified individuals engaged in high-impact neuroimaging research aimed to improve understanding of the pathophysiology and treatment of psychiatric, neuropsychiatric, and/or neurodevelopmental disorders. Embedded within a private psychiatric hospital with the largest research program in the US, the McLean Imaging Center (www.mcleanmri.org<https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=http-3A__www.mcleanmri.org&d=CwM…>) offers a highly multi-disciplinary and collaborative environment conducive of neuroimaging research on a variety of conditions, including-but not limited to-mood and anxiety disorders, drug and alcohol abuse, eating disorders, personality disorders, developmental disorders (e.g., autism), and neurodegenative disorders (e.g., Alzheimer's disease). We seek an investigator to extend or complement our existing research programs. Priority areas include pediatric neuroimaging relevant to neurodevelopmental and psychiatric disorders, but any strong candidate engaged in patient-oriented neuroimaging research will be considered.
Opportunities exist for developing strong collaborations within McLean Hospital and across Harvard Medical School. Depending on research focus, candidates will have access to three research-dedicated human (two 3T and one 4T) and animal (9.4T) MRI scanners, 128-channel EEG systems, MR-compatible EEG systems, near infrared spectroscopy (NIRS), a mock scanner, as well as comprehensive array of imaging capabilities (e.g., fMRI, sMRI, DTI, high-density EEG, Proton MRS, Phosphorus MRS).
Applicants must have a Ph.D. and/or M.D. or professional doctorate, appropriate postdoctoral experience, and a record of extramural funding and publications indicative of demonstrated expertise. Depending upon qualifications, the applicant must either meet the academic criteria for appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School. The position offers laboratory space as well as affiliation with a large clinical and basic neuroscience research program and research infrastructure support. The successful candidate will be expected to develop a competitive, independent, and largely externally funded research program. Salary and recruitment packages will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Qualified women and minority candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
Applicants should submit a cover letter (addressed to Diego A. Pizzagalli, Ph.D. & Scott E.
