The Harvard Psychology Department is seeking Teaching Assistants for Fall 2024!
TAs provide instructional support for core courses by leading weekly discussion or lab sections for large lecture courses. TAs play a vital role in the instruction of these essential courses, and we hope you will apply to work with our students. In addition to section preparation and instruction, TAs are expected to attend lectures, grade assignments and exams, hold weekly office hours, attend teaching staff meetings, and related duties as outlined by the course instructor. TAs will work closely with and receive mentorship on instruction and course administration from faculty course heads.

* PSY 1005 Health: A Positive Psychology Perspective - Tues/Thurs 10:30-11:45am
* PSY 1060 The Science of Happiness - Tues/Thurs 1:30-2:45pm
* PSY 1201 Your Brain on Drugs: Psychopharmacology - TBD
* PSY 1845 Stigma, Discrimination, and Health - Mon/Wed 10:30-11:45am
* PSY 1861 Developmental Psychopathology - Tues/Thurs 12:00-1:15pm
* PSY 1900 Introduction to Statistics for the Behavioral Sciences - Tues/Thurs 10:30-11:45am
* PSY 1901 Methods of Behavioral Research - Mon 1:30-2:45pm
Qualifications: A bachelor's degree is required. Teaching experience and prior coursework in psychology, neuroscience, human development, statistics, or related fields is preferred.
Fall term appointment dates: August 1, 2024 - December 31, 2024 (classes run Sept 3-Dec 4; final exams through Dec 20). All instruction is expected to take place in person on the Cambridge campus. Appointments may be renewable, contingent upon enrollments, performance, and continued availability of funding.
Expected time commitment: Average of 7-9 hours per week per section including teaching time, prep work, grading, and office hours. Sections may be combined to create full-time or part-time positions. TAs with 2 or more sections are eligible for Harvard benefits<https://hr.harvard.edu/health-welfare-benefits>.
Salary: $5,850 - $8,218 per section. Salary is determined by the Office of Undergraduate Education based on the total number of sections, education, and college-level teaching experience.
