Hello,
I was wondering if you could please disperse our job announcement to your PhD students on the job market. We are currently hiring for three tenure-track positions in the Department of Criminology at California State University, Fresno. More specifically, we are hoping to hire new faculty who could contribute to our forensic behavioral sciences, law enforcement, and victimology options.
This Criminology department is unique in that it has four areas of specialization, including forensic behavioral sciences (basically legal and forensic psychology) - the option that your students will most likely be interested in. It consists of a rigorous curriculum that emphasizes coursework in forensic and legal psychology, the biology and psychology of criminality, professional ethics, and forensic science. Faculty teaching in the program have backgrounds that include psychology and the law, investigative interviewing, clinical assessment of sexual predators and serial homicide offenders, jury instructions, eyewitness identification, and psychopathology (particularly psychopathy).
I'd also be happy to speak with any of your students about working at Fresno State, or any information specific to a psychologist working in a criminology department. You can also have them reach out to the chair of the search committee, Dr. Jordan Pickering (jpickering(a)mail.fresnostate.edu<mailto:jpickering@mail.fresnostate.edu>).
Preference will be given to applications <https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__careers.fresnostate.ed…> received by November 20, 2023.
