I am a research assistant in the labs of Dr. Pearl Chiu, Dr. Brooks King-Casas, and Dr.
Stephen LaConte at the Virginia Tech Carilion Research Institute
(

in Roanoke, Virginia. We are currently seeking a new full-time research assistant and
would like to get the word out to undergraduates who are interested in such a position.
Projects in the labs combine methods from experimental and clinical psychology,
neuroscience, and behavioral economics with functional neuroimaging (fMRI) to investigate
decision-making in healthy and clinical populations (including adults with
mood/anxiety/substance disorders, and at-risk youth). Training will be provided for all
aspects of the job. This is an excellent opportunity for those interested in graduate
school in clinical or cognitive psychology/neuroscience.
I have attached a complete description of the job ("VTCRI-LabManager.pdf"), and
here is the link for the posting on the Virginia Tech website:

Would it be possible to forward this information to the psychology and neuroscience
undergraduate students at your institution? We're seeking candidates that would be
able to start as soon as possible, so if you have a list of recent graduates or students
who will graduate in the middle of this year, that would be ideal.
Please let me know if you have any questions, or if there is someone else in your
department whom it would be better for me to contact. Thank you so much for your help, and
we look forward to possibly receiving some applications from students at Harvard
University!
Sincerely,
Douglas Chan
P.S. We also have another posting for a new full-time clinical coordinator (Master's
or Ph.D level candidates, and I've attached that job description as well in case you
able to pass that along to your graduate school as well. Thanks in advance!
