Tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor for Fall, 2014 in developmental
cognitive/affective neuroscience, Stony Brook University. We are particularly interested
in applicants who study core neural systems relevant to anxiety and depression (e.g.,
threat and/or reward) from a developmental perspective using neuroimaging methods, but we
will also consider strong candidates with other relevant interests and methods. This hire
is part of a campus-wide initiative on the clinical affective neuroscience of anxiety and
depression; the successful candidate will work with future hires and existing faculty in
Psychology, Psychiatry, and Neurobiology and Behavior on translational research in anxiety
and depression.
Stony Brook University has excellent and rapidly expanding neuroimaging facilities and
access to exceptional facilities for the development of innovative research equipment for
animal and human studies. The departments of Psychology, Psychiatry, and Neurobiology and
Behavior have significant strengths in clinical, neuroimaging, and translational research
on depression and anxiety, and a strong record of collaboration. Stony Brook University is
a member of the AAU, and is located 60 miles from New York City.
