TF position for Spring 2017: Educational Design / Neurobiology
Description
We are searching for a graduate student or post-doc with a strong interest in educational
design and a background in neurobiology to lead a targeted redesign of our introductory
neurobiology course (MCB 80: Neurobiology of Behavior). This course serves first and
second year undergraduates and covers topics in circuits/signaling, development,
learning/memory, language, mental illness, and more.
Duties
The main duties include working within the 'Learning
Lab<http://bokcenter.harvard.edu/bok-learning-lab>' at the Derek Bok Center
10-15 hours per week to:
- develop in-class learning activities to complement pre-existing lectures
- develop ideas for higher order assessments (in-class quizzes, projects, and exams)
- develop section activities to reinforce scientific thinking, reading, and writing
The compensation will be between $3000 and $5000 over the term depending on the time
commitment.
