Hello: Has anyone on the list have any thoughts, dealings, comments, etc. about Unicode especially in regards to Greek? Has anyone been cataloging materials in Greek? I know that OCLC has some experimental records but I am very ignorant about Unicode and Greek and would like to get any information you may have available. The network posting

Dear Sir/ Madam, We would like to post a message on the Consortium of Hellenic Studies Librarians listserv. about a documentary called the Network, about the history of illicit antiquities. THE NETWORK, a concise history of recent illicit trade in antiquities A new film tries to expose the network preying on Greek heritage. Does it succeed? Described as a documentary about the illicit trade of Greek antiquities, Network shows the international character of that trade and exposes the interconnections among those prominently involved in it. Network does a great job of covering a vast subject with an extensive cast of characters without being preachy or dull. Having some knowledge of the individual cases presented in the film, it was especially gratifying for me to see so many strands pulled together. But someone with no background in the subject would equally enjoy it--or be appalled by what it exposes. Yet for everything it hauls into the light of day, Network leaves as many others in the shadows and murk of this vast illicit web. Network's writer and director, Andreas Apostolidis use a back-and-forth approach between narrated scenes and interviews with archaeologists, curators and collectors, dealers, investigative journalists, law enforcement officials, and lawyers. Most of the filming was in Greece, England, and New York, with spots in Geneva, Israel, and elsewhere. The footage is either of interviews (set in offices, galleries, private collections and museums, or at archaeological sites) or locales (suspected antiquities warehouses, the Geneva Freeport, auction houses). It has narration in Greek with English subtitles, which also appear when interview subjects speak a language other than English. Out of print books concerning the Greeks of Asia Minor

Dear Librarians; I'd appreciate if anyone can give me some helpful tips on how I can proceed with learning more about out of print books and how such books can possibly be brought back into print. These out of print books are important because of their rich historical and documentary value and should be salvaged because of the significant material that can shed light to future generations. Some of the books I'm interested in deal with the events of the Greco-Turkish war the destruction of Hellenism in Asia Minor. See below for some titles. I'd also be interested if anyone has any other books focusing on the Greeks of Asia Minor during this period (1916-1923). This will be to the benefit of all Modern Greek scholars. I'll be able to attend the Athens meeting--fortunately, I've received Faculty development funding for the trip. I noticed that the journal list I distributed at the MGSA meeting came up. Since that meeting, I've revised it a bit and also created a list of journals covering the years from 1900-1950 in the University of Cincinnati Modern Greek Collection. I'm attaching both lists to this email.
