Dear Colleagues,
This is an important initiative. Please take the survey, or pass it on to the appropriate user group. This survey will be used to help make recommendations on the use of romanization in library catalogs within a linked data environment.
All best,

Subject: [PCCLIST] Survey on Romanization
This message is being cross-posted. Please excuse duplication.
Dear colleagues,
The Non-Latin Script Materials Affinity Group<https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__wiki.duraspace.org_dis…> of the Linked Data for Production-2 project invites you to participate in an online survey on romanization in library catalogs. Library catalogs include romanization to support the use of resources in non-Latin scripts. As library systems become more powerful in handling native scripts, and with the move to linked data, there is a desire to re-evaluate the current practice regarding romanization. Before any decisions can be made, libraries need to consider the impact on patrons, library staff, and systems used to manage those resources.
This survey will be used to help make recommendations on the use of romanization in library catalogs within a linked data environment.
This online survey should take approximately 5-7 minutes to complete and will be available at the following link until October 8
https://umich.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_0xmDmv1NgzCfBtP<https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__umich.qualtrics.com_jf…>
Please forward the survey to anyone that you think might be interested.
If you have questions about the survey, please contact Xiaoli Li (xlli(a)ucdavis.edu<mailto:xlli@ucdavis.edu>) or Larisa Walsh (walshl(a)uchicago.edu<mailto:walshl@uchicago.edu>)
We are grateful for your participation and look forward to your feedback.
Kind regards,

FROM Jon A. Lindseth
I have several new copies to donate of *Alice in a World of Wonderlands:
the Translations of Lewis Carroll's Masterpiece*. The book is in three
volumes, 2656 pages,178 languages, and 60 alphabets. It was published in
2015 by Oak Knoll. We believe it to be the most extensive analysis ever
done of an English language novel in so many languages.
The recipients must be colleges or universities that in the past have had
master's theses or doctoral dissertations on some aspect of Lewis Carroll
and his writing.
I need the name of the institution and addresses and evidence that the
institution qualifies.

Hello!
We are e-mailing you today in hopes you will complete our survey
https://uky.az1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_79QS69Sz56umpCd . We are studying
special collections catalogers and how their reporting lines differ from a
non-special collections cataloger. If you catalog special collections
materials, such as rare books, archival collections, and more, we would
greatly appreciate your input. Information gathered will be used in a book
chapter to be published in *Technical Services in the 21st Century* (publishing
date estimated 2020). All responses will be kept anonymous and only used
for this book chapter.
Thank you in advance for your time and responses!
If you have any questions, please let us know.
