Dear CoHSL members:
We are in the final stages of organizing the Athens meeting! If you haven't
already done so, please confirm with me directly if you plan to
attend. Maria Georgopoulou and her colleagues at the Gennadius are working
hard on local arrangements and we are together planning the meeting
schedule which will bring us all together for the first time on Greek
soil. Our colleague Harry Leich, from the Library of Congress, is currently
in Athens on an acquisitions trip and I just have received word that he
made an excellent presentation at the Ethniki Vivliotheke (National Library
of Greece) and pitched our project and meeting to the audience which
consisted of several important players. (I am sure that Harry will give us
the full report upon his return.) Harry actually participated in the first
attempt at collaboration at the 1999 conference at LC, and has been a great
help to us in organizing this meeting.
Re: Hotel accommodations, we have received a special rate from the
Herodion Hotel, 4 Rovertou Galli str., Athens, which is located close to
the metro station ACROPOLIS, literally next to the new Acropolis Museum,
and minutes away from the site. You can check it out at:
