Athena Research Centre
The Athena Research Center <http://www.athena-innovation.gr/>, a Research &
Innovation Centre in Information, Communication and Knowledge
Technologies presented the range of innovative research and development
activities in which it is engaged on
May 28 at the Eugenides Foundation <http://www.eugenfound.edu.gr/>.
Athena is the first research institution specializing in information society
technologies and it was founded under the
auspices of the Secretariat General for Research and Technology of the
Ministry of Development.
Athena is an umbrella organization that supervises a number of research
institutes such as:
The Institute for Language and Speech Processing (ILSP <http://www.ilsp.gr/>),
the Cultural and Educational Technology Institute (CETI<http://www.ceti.gr/>),
the industrial Systems Institute (ISI <http://www.isi.gr/en/>)
and the Institute for the Management of Information Systems
(IMIS<http://www.imis.athena-innovation.gr/>).
Furthermore, three new units have been recently established under
"Athena": The Technology Cluster Initiative

),
the Space Programs Unit (SPU <http://www.athena-spu.gr/>) and the
Digital Curation Unit (DCU <http://www.dcu.gr/dcu/site/Home/t_section>).
